This tutorial describes how to make these beautiful spiral cascade earrings.

Here are the components that you will need.

  • Earring findings of your choice
  • 6 crystal bicones with loops on each side
  • 6 dangles for the bicones
  • 4 green pearls with loop on top
  • 4 white pearls with loop on top
  • 16 links
  • 2 coin pearls with loop on top
  • Several headpins.  Small gage needed for pearls.

This slide shows the framework for this project.

How to get the spiral effect:
When you attach the 8 links the odd links will face right/left and the even links will face front/back.  The last link is #1 and the link closet to the earring finding is #8.

Pearl/bicone placement is as follows:
#1 - right, #2 - back,
#3 - left, #4 - front,
#5 - right, #6 - back,
#7 - left, #8 - front.

You can attach the links first then add the pearls and bicones; however, this tutorial instructs you how to build the earrings from the bottom up to avoid opening and closing the links too many times, because they do become brittle.

To begin, add the head pins to each bicone and pearl as noted above.

Add the coin pearl to a link.

Add a green pearl to link #2 and attach to link #1.  The green pearl on link #2 is actually n the back, though it looks like it is on the right in this slide.

Add a bicone to the left side of link #3.

Add a pearl to the front of link #4.

Add a bicone to the right of link #5.
Add a green pearl to the back of link #6.

(not shown)
Add a bicone to the left of link #7.
Add a green pearl to the front of link #8.

Add link #8 to your earring finding and you're done.

Combinations are endless, have fun.

If you send pictures of your finished piece from this tutorial I will post it below.
